Welcome To Bandon History Museum

Bandon’s History Museum tells the story of a place blessed by water and cursed by fire.

Shipbuilding, shipwrecks, beach life, Native American basketry, the Coast Guard, disastrous fires, dramatic floods, gold, wind, golf, cheese, trees and cranberries are just some of the subjects on display.

Located a half block from the Face Rock Creamery and a short walk from the waterfront boardwalk, the museum is in a building that used to be Bandon’s City Hall.

We’re family friendly. Be sure the kids take our History Detective’s challenge.

Our museum store specializes in books about local wildlife, marine history, Oregon lighthouses, and all things Bandon.

Visit us at the museum in Bandon, a place where history never gets old.

The Bandon Historical Society was founded in 1976 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission of preserving and presenting historical material and artifacts related to the history of the Bandon area.
