Obituaries:

The museum has copies of obituaries covering the last 100 years in this area.  The obituaries are arranged in books according to cemetery.  Cemeteries in this area are the Averill/ Pioneer Cemetery, the Catholic Cemetery, the GAR, the I.O.O.F., and the VFW cemeteries.  There is also a book containing obituaries from the Denmark Cemetery, south of Bandon.

Cemetery Tour

Take a look at Bandon’s Averill / Pioneer Cemetery and read about some of the history of the people buried there.  This cemetery is a very peaceful and beautiful section of Bandon that overlooks Old Town and the Coquille River.

Denmark Cemetery Listing

While the Denmark Cemetery is not in Bandon, many Bandonites have relatives buried there.  The Denmark Cemetery is one of many lovely cemeteries in this area.  The museum has a book which has all the obituaries of people listed here.

The museum provides research help for locating people buried in this area.  Marriage records for Coos County from 1840 to 1905 are now available as well.
